Internationalisation Register

What is the Internationalisation Register?

The Internationalisation Register is administered by the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI), on behalf of the Departments of Justice and Law Reform, and of Education and Skills. The Register lists the education and training programmes approved for students who wish to undertake casual employment and who are citizens from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.

Eligibility of programmes

The New Immigration Regime for Full-Time non-European Economic Area (EEA) Students was published in September 2010 (See Department of Justice and Law Reform documentation below). The following information note clarifies the implications of the new immigration regime for Non-EEA Students, for the administration of the Internationalisation Register from 01 January 2011.

21 February 2011: The Student Review Unit of the Department of Justice and Law Reform has issued the following supplementary notice regarding the status of certain vocational and other programmes offered by providers regarding their eligibility for inclusion in the Internationalisation Register.

Applications and updates

The Internationalisation Register will continue to be updated on a monthly basis. The following is a link to the current Internationalisation Register. Internationalisation Register (Updated 18th January 2012)

Application Forms for inclusion on the Internationalisation Register can be found here.

Please note: Applications must be received on or before the 18th of each month for consideration for inclusion on the Register which is published on the 18th of the following month.

Applications must be delivered by post, applications cannot be accepted via email or be delivered by hand.

Providers of programmes included on the Internationalisation Register may be selected for adjudication inspection/spot checks.
