A public forum was held in Dublin Castle on 14 February 2002, and was Chaired by the Chairperson of the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland , Mr. Dick Langford.

The aim of this forum was to provide stakeholders and all interested parties with an opportunity to discuss the document "Towards a National Framework of Qualifications - A Discussion Document" as well as submissions that had been made in relation to it.

NB: The rapporteurs prepared powerpoint presentations under each of the discussion themes, to be presented during the forum's afternoon session. However, due to a security alert in Dublin Castle the forum was cut short and the only presentation to be made was on Policies & Criteria.
